One of my favorite music blogs, Aquarium Drunkard (named after a Wilco song), recently posted some songs that Neko Case recorded for Canada’s CBC Radio3 Sessions.
Man, it’s good stuff. Bare bones. Acoustic. Powerful. And that voice.
By the way, the cover for Middle Cyclone (see above) has to be one of the greatest album covers of all time. Right up there with Sticky Fingers.
I love her voice. Fox is my favorite of her albums.
If someone were to put a gun to my head and ask what’s my favorite Neko Case album, I’d probably choose Fox. But that’s a tough one. I’m really enjoying Middle Cyclone. And Blacklisted is pretty great too…
I haven’t heard Middle Cyclone, but yes, you’re right about Blacklisted.
I still haven’t checked out some of her earlier albums, like The Virginian.
